Going Home

J, little J and I all went to ATL this weekend to celebrate my uncles 60th birthday party. It was loads of fun and my whole family was there. Everyone was SO excited to see me Jackson, he’s changed a lot since they last saw him. I got to see my maddie, my emmy and my little logan! We swam, played and splashed all afternoon! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful, beautiful family. It’s so nice to go home and see everyone!

I also got to have lunch with two of by buddies from high school! I hadn’t seen these girls in almost nine years and I was so excited! We had lunch and chatted, I heard about jobs, husbands and children. In some ways we’ve all changed so very much, but in other ways, I felt sixteen again! To be able to pick up right where you left off is truly the mark of a good friend. Thank you ladies for a wonderful lunch!

Another highlight of my trip home was being able to photograph one of my favorite families! This family of three will soon be four and there will be another little one to photograph! I can’t wait! Isn’t this the cutest little pregnant mommy? I wish that I had been this cute when I was pregnant with Jackson! I would have been having someone take my photo constantly! LOL!

Thanks for allowing me to capture another special moment in your family’s life, I can’t wait to meet your new addition!

All he needs to be happy…

We have a poodle.  I’m not sure if I’ve ever put him on this blog before or not, but just in case I haven’t, we have a poodle named Sammie.

Sammie adopted Jeff and I when we moved into our new house.  The poor little home-less pup was living in our garage while our house was being built.  The morning we purchased our house, we were doing a walk through with our builder, Sam, when I saw the little fur ball scatter from the garage the minute we walked in.  I’d be kidding myself if I pretended that it was anything but love at first sight.  He was this little ball of moppy hair, I couldn’t even see his eyes.  He was dirty and smelly and I couldn’t wait to hold him close.

I tried for days, unsuccessfully, to catch this sweet dog.  I should have been unpacking my house but I was, instead, putting down doggie treats leading to my front door.

It didn’t work.

Finally, early one morning, we heard our doorbell ring and I knew instantly who it was!  I ran downstairs, opened the door and there he stood.  Builder Sam, holding my sweet puppy!  I was truly elated.

Here we are nearly two years later and it seems like he’s always been a part of our family.  It’s hard for my to remember the days where he’d run from me, because now he is my shadow.  He is underfoot wherever I go and in my lap every chance he gets.  If I’m honest, I love it!  I love him so much and I love that he loves me so much.

I’ve told you all this so that you can understand where he comes from.  He was once homeless, sleeping under a dumpster.  He couldn’t even see because his hair was so long.  He had to find his own food.  He’s got “street cred” if you know what I mean.  So imagine the chuckle that I had when I looked down last night from my computer work to find my puppy asleep…

He apparently couldn’t be bothered to walk the three feet over to his pillow, so he thought my empty compute bag would do.  Ohhhhh Sammie, he never ceases to make me laugh.  It was just too funny not to take a picture of and share it with all of you.  I sure wish I was this flexible in life, maybe I can learn a thing or two from this pup.  I love you Sammers.

All my love,

~J {xox}

NEW Website!

Well, it’s finally up, my new website that is! It has taken me weeks of creating it, proofing it, and figuring out all the web mumbo jumbo to get it online. But now it’s all done and it is UP! Praise the Lord on high!! Who knew that something as simple as transferring a blog from one web server to another would be such an endeavor. I felt like I needed to go back to college and get an IT degree to do it! In fact, in the end, it wasn’t even me that figured it out! A good friend of mine did! (THANKS!) Hope you all enjoy the new duds!

Also, just wanted to share a video that a friend of mine’s band did! They created it as an entry to a contest and whom ever has the most view on youtube wins a trip to Japan! This video is pretty awesome {if I do say so myself} so they deserve the trip!! How’s about y’all hook them up and click on the it below so they can get some views! Thanks! Good luck guys!!!
