Since I don’t actually have any children of my own, I always take every chance I get to hang out with other people’s children. This week, two of my favorite kids on the Planet Earth were in town visiting, Madison and Logan.
Madison is a child after my own heart, and I’ve always adored her since birth. It’s so funny to watch her because in a lot of ways, I feel as though I’m looking into a mirror, not physically (don’t I wish I had her blue eyes!) but in the things she says and the way she acts. She’s a little spitfire that doesn’t hold anything in, you always know where you stand with her. She’s picky and choosy, in all the ways that I am and she and I can be silly together. Her mama always tells me that she loves the fact that Maddie is both and tomboy and a beauty queen in equal proportions. I love that about her. The truth is that Maddie has me (and my hubby) wrapped around her little finger and she gets her way with us. I can only hope to have a little girl just like her one day.
And Logan….oh little Logan. I have never met a two year old that is more of a little man that Logie. He is already such a boy’s boy, his dad pretty much rules his world. His dad can’t go anywhere without Logan nipping at his heels, ready to help and participate in whatever his dad is doing. Logan sat outside today for about 15 min, holding his fishing pole, saying “I wanna go feeeeeeeeeshing!” It was so cute! Logan also has the cutest little laugh I’ve ever heard. He thinks everything in the world is funny and he just laughs and laughs. It’s quite infectious, he is quite infectious.
One of my favorite things to do (when no other adults are around) is color. I just think it is so soothing and relaxing. Plus, it’s really easy to do and really easy to impress kids with. After I finished coloring my “Hello Kitty” picture with Maddie this afternoon, I gave it to her and she acted as though I had given her a one of a kind Van Gogh. I’m not gonna lie, it made me feel good about myself! All in all, it was a good day laughing and playing with the kiddos, I was blessed and I’m going to miss them when they go home.
